Regular health exams can help your children stay healthy by preventing and identifying health problems early. When found early, diseases and other health problems are usually easier to treat, and early detection and treatment can often prevent serious health issues later in life. If you can’t afford these exams, the Public Health Department may be able to help. The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) Program provides well-child exams to children and youth who qualify at no cost and links families to ongoing healthcare coverage.
