Click below to see what kinds of "Food Packages" WIC offers for each age category.
Q: Where Can I Find More Detailed Information About Which Foods I Can Buy Using WIC Vouchers?
A: You can find more information in the WIC Authorized Food List Shopping Guide.
Q: What Should I Expect During My First WIC Appointment?
A: Please allow up to two hours for your first WIC appointment. During this first appointment, the receptionist will collect all required information to enroll your family into WIC (proof of income, ID, address, pregnancy, referral forms, and dietary forms).
Next, a WIC nutritionist will determine your eligibility. If eligible, the nutritionist will then enroll your family into WIC. The nutritionist will also provide a nutrition assessment for your family. At the end of a brief talk, he or she will help you schedule your next WIC appointment.
Lastly, your WIC nutritionist will show you a short video clip on how to use your new WIC vouchers at the grocery store as well as answer any questions you may have.
Once you have completed your first enrollment appointment, you'll be given vouchers that can be used the same day of your first visit. For more information, visit the State WIC website and watch these video clips.
Q: Does Having WIC Harm My Immigration Status, or Chances to Apply for a U.S. citizenship or Green Card?
A: No, receiving benefits through Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) does not affect immigration status, or make you a "public charge." Programs such as WIC, Food Stamp, and free or reduced lunch programs are all funded through the FNS.
