On October 30, 2004, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested the last of five suspects being sought by our office for a string of South County burglaries, forgeries, and receiving stolen property.
Suspect Julio Cesar Rodriguez, 02/12/1973, of San Martin was arrested at gunpoint during a foiled burglary of a Morgan Hill home. He was arrested without incident.
On October 3, 2004, Anacleto Rodriguez, the brother of Julio, and Claudio Rivera, Julio’s girlfriend, were arrested at their San Martin residence wearing clothing items stolen from their victims. They too were arrested without incident.
On October 5, 2004, Detectives returned to the San Martin residence and talked to property owner Hugo Dreeza and his friend Silverio Risendez of Gilroy. Detectives found that Hugo was wearing a wristwatch that was listed as stolen along with several stolen credit cards. They too were arrested without incident.
These bandits burglarized homes of power tools, jewelry, specialized/exotic clothing, credit cards, and musical instruments. Between $7,000-$8,000 worth of stolen merchandise has been recovered. All other items listed in the other burglaries this group was known to be responsible for is believed to have already been fenced.
All the suspects were charged with P.C. 459, 470 & 496.
Some of the property recovered has not been identified. At least 8 South County burglaries have been potentially solved due to these findings.
