On June 7 at approximately 1:40 am, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office deputies made a vehicle enforcement stop in San Martin on a vehicle with expired registration tags.
The driver, 29-year-old Antoinette Marie Hernandez, had an active $7500 warrant for burglary. The passenger, 35-year-old Louis George Barraza Jr., was on active parole.
A search of the vehicle yielded 31.5 grams of Methamphetamine separated into twelve small baggies, a digital scale, and packaging material. $600 cash and two handguns were found as well. One handgun was confirmed stolen while the second handgun had one of its serial numbers altered. Also located inside the vehicle were several high capacity handgun magazines and ammunition.
Barraza was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale per 11378 H&S, transportation of a controlled substance per 11379(a) H&S, felon in possession of a concealed firearm per 12025(a)(1) PC, being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm in public per 12031(a)(1)(A) PC, possessing a firearm with a controlled substance per 11370.1 H&S, and possessing a firearm with an altered serial number per 12091 PC.
Hernandez was arrested on the warrant and charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale per 11378 H&S, transportation of a controlled substance per 11379(a) H&S.
Both suspects were booked into the Main Jail.
