On April 2, 2006 the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office ruled the suspicious death at the Santa Clara Main Jail a Homicide. The victim, 25-year-old Joseph Boos of San Jose, had multiple traumas on his upper body.
At this point no one has been charged with the crime and the Santa Clara County District Attorney Investigators and Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators are pursuing the incident as a Homicide.
On April 1, 2006 a suspicious death occurred at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
At approximately 1:20 PM an inmate advised Correctional Officers that there was something wrong with his cellmate. Correctional Officers found the victim in the two-man cell. The man was unresponsive and Correctional Officers rendered first aid and CPR. Fire and Paramedics were called and responded to the scene.
The victim, a 25-year-old male from San Jose, was transported to Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:18 PM. The victim and his cellmate were last checked at 12:40 PM, at which point all was well.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators are investigating the incident.
