On February 5, 2005, at about 1:00 pm, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report that an intruder had been injured at a residence in the 200 block of Claremont Av., in unincorporated East San Jose.
Deputies arrived with paramedics and found a 22 year-old Hispanic male had been injured during an altercation with the homeowner. The subject was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center by paramedics where he was declared dead on arrival.
At this point in the investigation it appears the decedent forced entry into the residence where he was confronted by the homeowner. A struggle ensued resulting in the intruder being mortally wounded.
The names of the involved parties are being withheld at this time and will be released at a later date. There are no outstanding suspects.
