On April 1, 2005, at about 3:20 P.M., on Union Ave., near St. Edwards Church (SJ), alert residents notified the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office that they just witnessed a kidnapping. They saw a man jump out of his car, grab a young boy, and force him into his car then drive away.
A 12-year-old male, and his friends were out playing. The boy threw a rock at one of his playmates. The rock missed its target, hit the ground, skipped up and hit the rear of a passing SUV. The boy fled the scene, but immediately returned.
The driver of the SUV exited his vehicle and tracked down the boy. He yelled at the boy, grabbed him by the arm, placed the boy in his SUV, and told him he was taking him to his parents. The boy said his parents were at work, but he could be taken to his caregiver. The driver briefed the caregiver and left his contact information so that the boy’s parents may contact him for damages to his vehicle.
