On February 2, 2005, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a veteran San Jose Police Officer for the sexual abuse of a minor.
Early Wednesday morning, Sheriff’s Deputies received a call from the San Jose Police Administration, alerting them of an allegation of sexual abuse involving one of their officers, Officer Stephen Gallagher, age 49, a 22-year veteran of the SJPD.
The incident occurred at a residence in unincorporated Morgan Hill, late Tuesday night, 02/01.05. The 1-year-old victim’s mother notified San Jose PD when she discovered the incident.
Officer Gallagher was on-duty at the time the arrest was made.
He was booked into San Jose Main Jail on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and is being held without bail.
