On Tuesday, June 27 deputies responded to what appeared to be a theft in progress of a trailer filled with
irrigation pipe from a farm on Monterey Highway.
After an initial investigation, Deputies were lead to the Budget Inn on Monterey Highway. Based on the information
the Deputies were able to gather, they arrested 41-year-old Roby Galbraith on numerous charges.
Galbraith is suspected of stealing another trailer loaded with aluminum irrigation pipe, earlier in the day, from a
field on Monterey Highway. The pipe was taken to Sims Recycling in San Jose, where Galbraith received several
hundred dollars for the load of pipe. The trailer was dumped near railroad tracks on Monterey Road and Palm Avenue.
Based on information obtained by the Deputies, Galbraith was arrested on charges of attempted grand theft,
receiving stolen property and violation of probation.
Galbraith is believed to have used his blue 1974 Dodge Tradesman van drive off with trailers containing irrigation
pipe. Each time, the pipe was sold to Sims Recycling.
