On April 1, 2006 a suspicious death occurred at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
At approximately 1:20 PM an inmate advised Correctional Officers that there was something wrong with his cellmate. Correctional Officers found the victim under his bunk bed in the two-man cell. The man was unresponsive and Correctional Officers rendered first aid and CPR. Fire and Paramedics were called and responded to the scene.
The victim, a 25-year-old male from San Jose, was transported to Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:18 PM. The victim and his cellmate were last checked at 12:40 PM, at which point all was well.
Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators are investigating the incident.
