The Law Enforcement Torch Run is scheduled to run through Santa Clara County, Tuesday, June 5th, 2007. Both law enforcement personnel and non-law enforcement personnel are welcome to participate. A lead and tail vehicle will be provided by the Sheriff’s Office to keep participants safe. You may run, Roller blade, ride a bicycle or participate however you like. We will also need volunteers to help with the set-up on the day of the event. I will be breaking the run into 2-mile stretches. You may choose to run the entire distance if you wish to do so. Sag vehicles will be provided for the runners. Our goal this year is to have 50-100 Sheriff’s Office supporters participating in this event in some form. Friends and family are welcome. A pledge form will be issued to any participant willing to ask friends and family for donations. I am not requesting donations but if you feel it in your heart to do so, it would be greatly appreciated.

This event is fully supported by the Sheriff’s Office. Please make appropriate arrangements with your supervisors.
At 0800 hours the run will start out at the soccer field next to Cupertino City Hall on Pacifica and Torre. We will run down Pacifica 1/4 mile, turn left on South De Anza and follow it to Monte Sereno. We will then hand off the torch to Los Gatos PD at the Monte Sereno city offices, which are located at Rose and Hwy 9. Our total route is about 7 miles. Our hand-off time will be at approximately 0945 hours.
