These officers are tasked with the primary responsibility of responding to events where large amounts of people are expected to be, and with ensuring the safety of all involved in the event. This can include, but is not limited to, presidential visits, civil unrest, political demonstrations, union actions and demonstrations, disasters (natural or man –made) where security is needed, and protection of dignitaries of regional, national and international stature.
