ILP provides services designed to assist foster youth ages 16-21 in their transition to living independently and self-sufficiently. Some of the services offered include:
- Budgeting
- College enrollment support
- Driver’s education
- Financial aid/scholarship applications
- High school diploma/GED support
- Housing search assistance
- Information and referral
- Job search assistance
- Life-skills training
- Planning and preparing meals
- Case management
- Other needs as identified
ILP may also be able to assist youth with obtaining documents such as proof of dependency cards/letters, and immigration paperwork. An emancipated youth stipend (EYS) may be available during qualifying hardships.
ILP organizes and hosts events and parties so youth can celebrate accomplishments and holidays with their peers. Youth have somewhere to go and be with others during times people typically spend with family.
ILP services are currently offered in greater Santa Clara County through Family and Children Services (FCS); Community Solutions serves the South County area. |
