SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. - The Santa Clara County Vector Control District (SCCVCD) fogging operations in the City of Sunnyvale were successfully completed at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, July 08.

Following last week's fogging operations in Sunnyvale, all mosquitoes from pre and post fogging traps tested negative for WNV. This means that there are no further plans for fogging operations at this time.

The good news is that we achieved an 85% reduction of mosquitoes in the fogging zone, going from six per trap before, and one per trap after the fogging. Outside the fogging zone, counts went from five before to six per trap after.

The fogging area was generally bordered by Evelyn Avenue on the north, South Grape Avenue, Lime Drive and South Mary Avenue on the west, South Wolfe Road on the east, and Cascade Drive on the south. Please refer to the map of the fogging zone or call the district for more specific information on the treatment boundaries.
