To engage in recreational activities and community activism implemented by and for youth.
-
To promote youth civic involvement and empower members of the Youth Task Force to advise the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors on issues and initiatives that affect the lives of youth.
-
To give members of the Youth Task Force hands-on experience in identifying community needs and addressing these needs through strategic advocacy.
Who We Are:
The Santa Clara County Youth Task Force (YTF) is a group composed of young people, from the ages of 12 to 18, empowered to make a difference. We serve as an advisory body to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and the Human Relations Commisison. We address the issues that teens face on a regular basis. We work to educate teens about the harms that affect their community and strive to find solutions and policies that will make better the lives of young people today. In doing so, we promote youth activism and advocacy, establishing a firm belief in the importance of youth speaking to youth. From that connection we hope will stem an inspiration in teens to embrace the culture and diversity around them, to work together and contribute in making a positive change.
