Proposed Current Fee Structure Changes For 2019

The Department of Environmental Health is proposing new permit fee categories in response to recent state laws and modifying existing fees to allow more flexibility for the permittee.  The majority of fees will remain unchanged.  The proposed changes would be effective by the end of 2019.


NEW PROGRAM FEE CATEGORIES

1. Limited Food Sales – Includes low-risk vendors such as confectioneries and convenience stores

2. Host Facilities – Allows a venue to host a Catering Operation that provides onsite food service 

3. Catering Operations – Allows permitted caterers and restaurants to serve at a Host Facility 

4. Vending Machines – Creates a specific category for vending machine and robotic equipment review

5. Satellite Food Service – Allows limited food service operations on the same property to be located away from the food preparation kitchen 

6. Charitable Feeding Operations – Creates a category for charitable feeding organizations 


UPDATED PROGRAM FEES CATEGORIES

Mobile Food Facility Plan Reviews – Provides a lower fee for less complex operations (i.e. a coffee cart or hot dog cart) than a full-service food truck.

We are currently accepting public comments regarding the proposed fees.  Comments may be submitted by September 13, 2019 by emailing DEHWEB@cep.sccgov.org.

We are currently anticipating this item will be heard at the Board of Supervisor's meeting on Tuesday, October 8th no later than 9:30 am.  Please check back on this website regularly for updates on the proposal.
