Region-Wide Shelter in Place Ordered
The seven Public Health Officers of the most populous counties in the Bay Area issued a region-wide Order to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This Order limits activity, travel, and business functions to only essential needs and directs residents to “shelter in place” for three weeks beginning March 17 in the interest of protecting the health of our community. Board Moves Forward on Cortese Plan to Create Homeless Task Force
The Measure A Affordable Housing Bond that voters approved in 2016 is doing its job. In three years, 21 housing projects are making their way to completion or have opened. At the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, January 28, I proposed, and the Board approved, a slate of initiatives that focus on short-term solutions, starting with creating a Homeless Task Force to focus on emergency shelter and transitional housing.
