  • GIS Maps and Data
    The Planning Office maintains many interactive maps. We also provide most of the data used in these maps as downloads or web-based services. 
  • Historic Preservation
    The Historical Heritage Commission was established to protect, preserve, and promote historic resources within Santa Clara County.
  • Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP Census 2010)
    The 2010 PSAP program concluded in 2009. We retain this site for reference because the 2010 Census Geography which is currently being used is based, in part, on the recommendations of this program.
  • Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP Census 2020)
    The 2020 PSAP program is currently underway. The deadline to submit suggested changes to Census Geography is May 17, 2019. Contact Greg Bazhaw for more information.
  • Stanford University
    Stanford University operates under the General Use Permit and Community Plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in 2000. Please contact Kavitha Kumar for more information on projects and on the post approval monitoring on Stanford property.
  • Stormwater Management Program
    The Stormwater Management Program provides public safety, environmental protection by maintaining compliance with state and federal laws concerning the discharge and elimination of non-point source pollution.
  • Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA)
    A program to oversee that surface mines within the county are compliant with the State Mining and Geology Board statutes and guidelines and the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act.
  • Williamson Act and Open Space Easement
    A state agricultural land protection program, whose contracts are overseen programmatically by the local county.
