Fleet Management

The Fleet Management division, upon request, provides vehicles to all County agencies and departments. These vehicles serve the transportation needs of employees to carry out their day- to- day business activities.

To operate as a multi-functional center, the County consolidated three locations into one centralized facility. This allows the improvement of operations and reduction of overhead expenses. As well as managing the automotive center, Fleet also oversees a paint and body shop.

The department provides maintenance and repair for approximately 1,744 County vehicles and operates in compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements, which include vehicle smog inspections, O.S.H.A. & D.O.T. safety standards, and E.P.A. hazardous waste standards.  

Fleet also offers 30 on-site electrical vehicle charging stations, with another 79 in development, and 130 planned for future expansion. These charging stations provide a vital component for transitioning the County infrastructure to a zero-emissions transportation environment for employee commuters and public visitors to County facilities. In lieu of our charging stations, Fleet has over 23% of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles. Our goal is to add more alternative fuel vehicles as they become available in the market.
