Welcome to Learning & Employee Development


Learning & Employee Development (LED) provides valuable resources to employees at the County of Santa Clara to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional competencies.  

Learning and Employee Development’s goals are to:

  • Empower employees to deliver extraordinary services.
  • Bring employees one step closer to their goals by increasing their knowledge, skills and abilities. 
 All employees are encouraged to actively pursue professional development and achieve their full potential personally and professionally.   

Throughout this website you can learn about professional development courses and certificate programs for all employees to increase effective communication, supervisory skills, computer skills, career development, work effectiveness, and leadership throughout the County. 

  • Read the monthly newsletter called Learning Connect that is emailed to all employees.
  • Log onto sccLearn​ and start searching for instructor led classes which are launched on a quarterly basis, enroll in e-Learning/Web based training, download audio books, or watch videos.
  • Take a look at the Certificate Programs designed specifically for County employees.
  • Assess and improve your skillset by using the Self-Development Planning Process. Once you’ve identified your goals, there are also resources to help you achieve those goals.
  • Learn about programs designed specifically for supervisors and managers.
