Universal Access Pilot Information & Resources

Universal Access Pilot (UAP) Information and Resources to Help Families during the COVID-19 Health Emergency

The Office of Cultural Competency Universal Access Program (UAP) is a collaborative model with FIRST 5, County of Santa Clara agencies, Santa Clara County Office of Education, Alum Rock Unified School District, Franklin McKinley School District, and other nonprofit partners. Universal Access partners are committed to cross-system coordination and integration in service to family navigation that is culturally-responsive and applies a whole child, whole family approach where all doors lead to support.

To respond to the needs of the community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAP team pulled together a set of resources to help navigate families, particularly COVID19-related resources.  This information is fluid and it is updated regularly.

You can access the most current resource information via this portal.

The portal includes our guide, A Comprehensive UAP COVID-19 Information and Resources Guide. This resource guide is regularly updated and contains links to the Public Health Department, as well as a multitude of resources and information from food distribution, VTA, homelessness, immigration, unemployment, legal rights, childcare for essential workers, hotlines, and more.

In addition, we include folders that provide more in-depth information on:

  • Behavioral Health Information

  • Homelessness Prevention Information

  • South County Resources

  • Information in various languages

Please stay healthy, safe, and informed during these unprecedented times!

From the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department's Facebook page:

A message from Associate Pastor Reginald Swilley of Maranatha Christian Center in San Jose, urging us to be extremely cautious and to #stayathome and #shelterinplace:

"Let's protect our families.  Let's protect our loved ones.  Let's protect our neighbors.  Let's protect this County.  It's the right thing to do!

We don't want anyone else to suffer from this virus anymore than those who have already contracted it."
