The Office of Mediation and Ombuds Services (OMOS) is open and conducting all business operations by phone, email and video conference.

The County recently passed a moratorium on evictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of the County’s comprehensive approach to executing this measure, OMOS’s mediation services are being used to address any conflicts that may arise as a result of this moratorium on Unlawful Detainer/eviction matters. More importantly, mediation is an effective way for landlords and tenants to proactively and productively discuss the payment of rent that is owed, once the moratorium lifts.

OMOS helps parties have difficult conversations, generate options, and reach voluntary resolution of their conflicts but does not provide legal advice. We offer help in English and Spanish.
