SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – As part of a collaborative effort by the Superior Court, the Department of Family and Children Services, the Dependency Advocacy Center, the Legal Advocates for Children & Youth, the Office of the County Counsel, First 5, and Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, the County Board of Supervisors will be proclaiming June 5, 2013 as Reunification Day.
The goal of Reunification Day is to recognize the hard work and commitment of families to reunify with their children, as well as celebrate the extraordinary contributions of foster parents.
“Foster families are extraordinary partners in our effort to find stable homes for hundreds of kids in our county,” said Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian, Chair of the Children, Seniors and Families Committee. “We’re grateful for their willingness to support youngsters in need of structure, attention and compassion.”
