Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Certifies District Two Election Results

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF.—Today, the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors voted unanimously (4-0) to accept the Registrar of Voters' Certificate of Election Results and Official Final Results for the Special Run-Off Election held on July 30, 2013.  The Board also officially declared Cindy Chavez as the elected representative of District Two residents.
After the election results were certified, Chavez took the Oath of Office and was sworn in by the Board President Ken Yeager, in the Board of Supervisors’ conference room.
“I can now begin serving the residents of District Two, without delay,” said Chavez, who remarked that plans are underway for a community swearing-in ceremony in the weeks ahead.  “I welcome the opportunity to greet the community and to share my vision for tackling the important issues ahead of us.”
