August 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of US women’s right to vote, accomplished through the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. In recognition of this milestone and in furtherance of women’s equality, the Board directed Administration to develop a strategic plan to protect and honor women’s suffrage. In response, and with further direction from the Children, Seniors, and Families Committee, Administration developed recommendations for a Women’s Equality 2020 Leadership Council.
The Women’s Equality 2020 Leadership Council will meet from August 2018 through December 2020 to assist in the County’s efforts to commemorate and honor the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, help ensure a complete census count and broad electoral participation in 2020, and advance women’s equality.
Meetings are 2nd Wednesday of the Month, 4:30pm - 6:30pm, at various locations around the County. Use the Quick Links on the right to access meeting schedules.

We were inspired by the words of community leaders and soapbox speakers. We hope to see you at the next WE2020 event. Please visit Women's Equality 2020 Leadership Council site for more information about the council and upcoming events.
