One Time Group Volunteers
Including corporate groups, scouts, and community partners

Thank you for your interest in bringing your group to County Parks for a volunteer service event!
Volunteer opportunities are based on the site specific needs of the park. Please see the following list of
current park needs before applying to make sure they match your group needs.

For small and large groups 30+

Almaden Quicksilver County Park

Group Type: Small to large groups.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends
Projects: Maintain the gardens around Casa Grande
Environment: Shade, picnic tables, visitor center and museum

Hellyer, Santa Teresa

Group Type: Flexible with small and large groups up to 50
Availability: Weekdays and weekends. See weeding parties scheduled for Saturdays in the summer
Projects: Litter pick up, non‐native and invasive plant removal
Environment: Visitor Center, creek, shaded

Vasona, Los Gatos Creek

Group Type: Large groups
Availability: Weekdays.  Weekends small groups only in the summer.
Projects: Non‐native and invasive plant removal, fence work, mulching, playground repair, install new paving stone pathway that leads to the back entry of the Ranger office.
Environment: Visitor center, picnic tables, shaded areas

Martial Cottle

Group Type: Flexible with small and large groups
Availability: Weekdays
Projects: Non‐native and invasive plant removal
Environment: Visitor center, picnic tables, shaded areas

Alviso Marina, Ed R. Levin, Joseph D. Grant County Park

Group Type: Small to large groups that can work without full time staff supervision
Availability: Weekdays
Projects: Litter clean up along the levees and removal of non‐native and invasive plants
Environment: Alviso Marina is wetland habitat with little shade, Ed R. Levin has shade and
picnic areas available, Joseph D. Grant is a steep uphill drive

For Groups Less than 25

Mt Madonna, Uvas

Availability: Weekdays and weekends
Projects: Clearing trails and brush, trail repair
Environment: Shaded and has picnic tables available

Coyote Lake, Harvey Bear Ranch

Availability: Weekdays and weekends
Projects: Clearing trails and brush, trail repair, removing non‐native and invasive plants
Environment: Shaded, picnic tables

Anderson Lake

Availability: Weekdays and weekends
Projects: Clearing trails and brush, trail repair, removing non‐native and invasive plants.
Environment: visitor center, picnic tables, shaded areas.

Stevens Creek, Sanborn County Park

Availability: Weekdays, some weekends if full staff time supervision is not required
Projects: Habitat restoration work including removal of non‐native and invasive plants, trail work
Environment: Shaded and has picnic tables available

If the park of your choice is not listed there currently are no group volunteer activities
available.

Please note requests cannot always be considered less than 4 weeks in advance. You will
have the best success if you make your request at least 8 weeks in advance. We will do the
best we can to accommodate your request, however please note that not all requests will be
granted.

Community Service tasks generally lasts 2‐4 hours.

We will respond to all inquiries within 7 days.
