Beginning November 20th and running for approximately two weeks the Santa Clara Valley Water District will be removing an invasive plant along Los Gatos Creek to Vasona Lake (see attached map
). Removal includes mechanical harvesting and hand removal crews that started at Highway 85 and are working upstream towards the reservoir. The Water District expects mechanical harvesting to take 5 working days and hand removal efforts close to two weeks. It is expected that follow-up removal efforts will be needed next year as invasive species management typically occurs over a 3 – 5 year timeframe.
