Thank you for your continued support and collaboration as the County of Santa Clara’s Public Health Department continues our response to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We know people are anxious and concerned about this new virus. Because it is so new, there is still a lot we do not know. However, we are learning more every day.
The County, with guidance from the CDC, is taking proactive steps to protect the health of our community. As we test more people, we expect more cases in the days and weeks to come. Today’s new guidance is meant to slow the spread of the virus in our community, reduce the number of people infected, and protect those who are most vulnerable to severe illness. These recommendations are effective immediately and may be updated as we continue to evaluate the needs of the public.
We understand the new guidance can have tremendous impact on the lives of people in our community. However, this is a critical moment in the growing outbreak of COVID-19 in Santa Clara County when such measures can potentially slow the spread of the disease.
Below are documents that can be distributed to staff and employees and the public as you see fit. Feel free to distribute widely to your networks and print as needed. Responding to outbreaks like this one is what public health departments do. It is our responsibility to take action to limit the spread of disease and protect the public's health, and we thank you for doing your part. Your organization’s continued partnership is essential to our County’s continued response.
