In 2013, the California Tobacco Control Program and all counties across California launched the Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community (HSHC) Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to improve the health of residents through supporting healthy changes in the store environment. Corner stores act as a shared main point of entry for healthy and unhealthy products, therefore reaching this goal involves the collaboration with tobacco prevention, alcohol prevention, and nutrition partners. Together, local data on availability, marketing, and cost of tobacco, alcohol, food and beverage products, and condoms were collected and released. Data collection for HSHC is currently in its third wave with the previous waves of data collected in 2013 and 2016. Visit the HSHC Statewide Campaign website to access Santa Clara County data. Data from the 2019 wave of HSHC will be available in Summer 2020.
