Travel Immunizations for adults and children:
If you are planning a trip, you need to protect yourself against diseases that are more common in the country or city you are visiting.
It is advisable to start travel immunizations at least 4-6 weeks before traveling.
To get the best protection against illness, bring your travel destinations and immunization records to your visit. The recommended vaccines will depend on your location of travel and which vaccines you have received in the past.
It is recommended that all children, prior to visiting the travel clinic, be seen by their primary medical doctor to ensure the child is up to date on his or her childhood immunizations. Our travel clinic does not provide routine childhood immunizations, but we do provide immunizations needed for travel, such as yellow fever and typhoid vaccines.
Note: A minor under the age of 18 needs to present a Birth Certificate or Guardianship prior to receiving travel vaccines.
During your visit:
Please plan for at least a 45-minute visit with the nurse. You will be asked to complete registration forms. The nurse will evaluate your medical history, review your immunization records and travel itinerary, and discuss the required and recommended vaccines for your trip.
Malaria tablets and oral typhoid capsules are only available by prescription from a physician. We are unable to provide prescriptions for these medications. However, during your visit, the nurse can provide information on the type of malaria tablets you may need, based on your travel destination.
The clinic provides services in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) offers information on immunizations and personal health protection measures for travelers to any part of the word. You may visit the CDC website by clicking here,
