  • Syringe exchange (new needles in exchange for used needles)
  • STD, HIV and Hepatitis C Testing at most Needle Exchange sites
  • Referrals: Mental health, detox, substance use and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV Prevention
  • Opioid overdose prevention (naloxone kits and training)
  • Safer sex supplies and hygiene kits
  • Fentanyl test strips​
Needle Exchange Hours & Locations
Effective July 1, 2019 needle exchange services are no longer provided at the San Martin site (90 Highland Ave San Martin) and hours have been extended at Knox, Gilroy and Little Orchard sites.

Knox Avenue site: Story Road & Knox Avenue (one block west from King Road) in San Jose
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
2nd Street & 280 site: Under the 280 overpass in San Jose (between South 1st Street & South 2nd Street)

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Crane Center site: 976 Lenzen Avenue, San Jose (southwest side of building)
8:30 am - 10:00 am
Valley Health Center (VHC) @ Alexian site: 2101 Alexian Drive, San Jose (parking lot behind medical site)
