The Office of Reentry Services, in collaboration with city and public safety partners in South County (Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill), launched a satellite Reentry Resource Center in April 2015. The South County Reentry Resource Center was established in response to concerns raised by County Supervisor Mike Wasserman and the two mayors and chiefs of police for Gilroy and Morgan Hill regarding high arrest and conviction rates of Public Safety Realignment (AB109) individuals residing in South County.
The goals of the South County Reentry Resource Center are to increase accessibility of services to AB 109 clients and Probation clients and to assist them to successfully stabilize in the community. The Office of Reentry Services has relocated the South County Reentry Resource Center from San Martin to Gilroy.
Below is a brief description of services offered to South County AB109 clients.
- Employment referrals through Catholic Charities
- Expungement services intermittently - call for assistance
- Mental health and substance abuse screening and assessments by a behavioral health clinician
- Probation support, referrals and linkages to community-based resources
- Social Service referrals to the Cal Fresh food program, Medi-Cal and General Assistance
