Information Technology/Office of the CIO

Working with other County departments and local government customers, the County’s IT department develops and delivers innovative, cost-effective technology solutions that aim to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the County of Santa Clara. County IT fulfills this mission by creating and managing:
  • Programs and projects to improve the quality of County services and the customer experience for all local residents who access these services
  • Initiatives to develop a more efficient, cost-effective and reliable County organization infrastructure through better IT asset and resource management
  • Efforts to provide higher levels of security and privacy protection both to the entire County staff and to everyone who interacts with the County via IT systems
The County’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) is Ann Dunkin. Formerly the CIO of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Ann joined the County in February 2017. For more, see Ann’s bio.
