Santa Clara County Public Health Department (SCCPHD) has served as the lead agency for the Network for a Healthy California—Bay Area Region for the past 10 years. In this capacity, SCCPHD developed a “Champions for Change” video.
This inspirational video showcases the outstanding work being conducted by Champions for Change across the Bay Area Region who are helping to support and create healthy communities. Specifically, this video features the Food Guardians of San Francisco and their work around food justice, and their activities to create healthy retail store environments in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood.
Also featured is the health ministry work of Allen Temple Baptist Church located in East Oakland, including their healthy food and beverage policy work. The video also showcases community engagement in physical activity via Zumba classes led by promotoras in the Fair Oaks Neighborhood of Redwood City.
Please take a few minutes to watch this inspiring video and feel free to share this Champions for Change video with your staff, networks, coalitions, family, and friends. You can also put it in your program’s electronic newsletter or show it at a staff meeting.
We have limited DVD copies of the video. If you would like a copy , contact Gina Vittori at Gina.Vittori@phd.sccgov.org
