Flu Information

Influenza (Flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year.

The flu vaccine will protect against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season. This season, our clinic will be providing the seasonal trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine(IIV). This flu vaccine includes:
  • influenza A California/7/2009(H1N1)
  • influenza A Switzerland/9715293/2013(H3N2)
  • influenza B Phuket/3073/2013
Flu vaccines are available 10/01/2015 - 03/30/2016 at The Adult Immunization & Travel Clinic.

We do not provide flu vaccine for pregnant women or anyone under 18 years of age. If you have health insurance, please visit your regular health care provider. For other flu vaccination locations, please use the HealthMap Vaccine Finder.
