Youth Prevention

Each day youth are exposed to many tobacco messages, resulting in 3,000 smokers nationally every day. In order to counter act the ever-present tobacco industry influences on our youth, the Tobacco Prevention Program will be launching in early summer 2011, a new media campaign reaching out to youth ages 10-18 through a comprehensive print ads and social media campaign focused on preventing youth from starting to smoke and how they can be involved in the fight against the tobacco industry's tactics to recruit new smokers among our youth.
To learn more about this upcoming campaign or how to get involved in the program's youth coalition call 408-793-2700.
Also, visit the Tobacco page under the Partners section to learn more about Community Advocate Teens of Today (CATT) to find out about current youth-led tobacco prevention activities in the county.
