On April 10, 2017, the Sheriff's Office will officially begin deployment of Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) to its Enforcement and Correctional Deputies. The anticipated time frame to complete agency-wide BWC training and deployment is approximately nine to twelve months. The BWC project has been a collaborative effort among many County stakeholders. The Sheriff's Office, Board of Supervisors, County Counsel, local city councils, various community groups, and employee labor unions have all helped shape the final BWC policy. We are excited to begin integration of this new technology into our daily operations.
