SAN JOSÉ, CALIF. - August 24th, 2011. Fogging operations in South San Jose were completed on Wednesday, August 24th at 2:00 a.m.

The Santa Clara County Vector Control District (SCCVCD) confirmed on 8/15/2011 that adult mosquitoes collected from the 95136 ZIP code area of San Jose tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). The detection of mosquitoes infected with WNV prompted the scheduling of a mosquito fogging treatment in the surrounding area, in an effort to prevent human cases of WNV.

The fogging area was generally bordered by Hillsdale Avenue on the north, Glenmont Drive on the west, Monterey Road on the east, and Highway 85 on the south.
