Women's Equality 2020 Leadership Council is a forty-six member council
formed by the Board of Supervisors (BOS) to assist
in the County’s efforts to commemorate and honor the 100th anniversary of
women’s suffrage, ensure a complete census count, broaden electoral
participation in 2020, and advance women’s equality. August 26th, 2020
marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment that granted citizens
the right to vote regardless of sex. The County of Santa Clara recognizes
the commemoration of the Centennial Celebration as an opportunity to
continue advocating for equal rights for ALL residents. The County
Resolution BOS-2018-70 that created the council and Bylaws can be found on
the BOS Meeting Portal here. Everyone
is welcome to participate and there are many ways to get involved.
