The Employee Wellness Department is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Santa Clara County employees. We offer many health promotion services such as annual activity programs, chair massage, health consultations, presentations, resource center, screenings, and special events.
The Employee Wellness Department services are provided for individuals who are currently employed by the County of Santa Clara.  All employees are eligible for services regardless of their health care benefit provider.
All activities require your manager's approval, unless it falls during your break or lunch time.  You do not have to use your personal time to attend classes offered through sccLearn if that class is held during your regular work schedule.  Release time to participate in other wellness related activities during your work hours will be negotiated between you and your manager. We encourage all managers to support their employee's efforts to improve their health and well-being.
Please contact the Employee Wellness Department at 885-3620 to discuss your particular needs and interests.
All wellness classes are free for County employees.  There are fees for some programs such as Chair Massage, Weight Watchers, and the Community Supported Agriculture Program.
The County does not offer discounts at health clubs. Some clubs will offer discounts to County employees especially if a number of employees are joining at the same time. Please discuss the availability of discounts with the membership or marketing staff at the clubs in which you are interested. A Health Club and Fitness Center Directory is available from the Employee Wellness Department.

Ongoing blood pressure screening and body fat analysis can be provided by individual request. To schedule an appointment, please call EWD at (408) 885-3620. Cholesterol and glucose screenings are only offered periodically at designated sites.
A health consultation is an opportunity for County employees to meet with Employee Wellness staff on a one-to-one basis to discuss their individual health goals.  Blood pressure screening and body fat analysis are offered during health consultations.  All Consultations are free and confidential.  Individuals can also receive consultations through e-mail or phone if they have questions a specific health and wellness topic.
